I am excited to be part of this board because I believe it is an opportunity to give back to a school system that has given so much to ensure the success of all the student body. I believe this can be attributed to children, parents, teachers, administrators, and board having one common goal - the success of the youth of Yancey County. I thank you for the opportunity you have given me to serve on the board and I covet your prayers and support. The success of this board depends on all participating and being involved in a school system that desires to excel above all obstacles to the betterment of our community. Yancey County Board of Education is made up of five members. School board meetings occur on the third Monday of each month. Open Work Sessions begin at 5:30 p.m. with Regular Meetings at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room of Yancey County Schools Central Office, 100 School Circle, Burnsville, NC.
