Yancey County Schools is pleased to announce its intent to apply for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Grant through the NC Dept. of Public Instruction. This federally funded grant supports the establishment of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-instructional hours for students, particularly those who attend schools in a high-poverty area.
If awarded, this grant will enable Yancey County Schools to continue to expand educational and enrichment programs that support student success including tutoring, homework assistance, STEAM, literacy programs and student support activities.
This program will also provide essential services to families, fostering a stronger connection between school, home and the community.
This notice serves as the official confirmation of Yancey County Schools’ participation in the grant application process. Grant application submissions are due Feb. 18, 2025. Applicants will be notified of approval/non-approval on May 5, 2025. Updates regarding the application status and potential program implementation will be shared as they become available.
