Because there are still so many families in need and our infrastructure is still being worked on: power, water, sewer, internet, roadways, buildings and rescue efforts. YCS will remain closed all next week for students, faculty & staff. Any employee who is able to come work at our schools should contact your principal or report to Blue Ridge Elementary for possible assignments. Anybody who needs supplies can pick them up at West Burnsville Baptist Church, Altec, local fire departments and Burnsville, Blue Ridge or Cane River Schools.

Good evening, this is Mr. Byland with several announcements from East Yancey Middle School, Thank you for an awesome first week back to school. Students will be assigned lockers on Monday. Your child should have brought home an iDimiss tag on Thursday of this week. If you are picking your child up in the pick up line, please make sure that this tag is visible. This makes pickup go much smoother. Your child will be bringing home a letter to sell chocolates for the school. The school needs these funds from this fundraiser to support a number of student and teacher needs within the school. Please send back the form signed with your child. Chocolates will be given to students on Thursday. Students can earn a number of awesome prizes and events for selling chocolates as well. WAG Aug 19-Aug 23 Good evening, this is Mr. Byland with several announcements from East Yancey Middle School, Monday is our first day back and we are excited to see you all! Thank you for coming out to open house this week and getting us ready to roll for the year. As a reminder, drop offs begin at 7:25am and pickups begin at 3:05pm. All buses will be early or late for the first few days of school as we get our new routes ironed out, so please have your child out at the stop a bit early. Pickups normally take a bit longer than usual on the first few days of school, so bare with us. Tdap and Meningococcal Immunizations are required for all 7th graders within the first 30 days of school by state law. If you have not had your child immunized, please do so asap. Sports: There is a soccer parent meeting at EY on Monday afternoon. Volleyball is at Mitchell on Monday. Soccer is at home on Tuesday and at Madison on Thursday. Thanks, and as always, GO PANTHERS!
