Please go to the East Yancey website and, in the top right corner, click “26-27 Registration.” All students must be registered even if they have already been a Panther in years past.
This coming Wednesday we will have open house from 2-6:30. 7th grade is scheduled to have a parent meeting with me at 4pm, 6th grade at 5pm, and 8th grade at 6pm.
Schedules will be available on the Infinite Campus student and parent app starting August 10th.
Our phones at East Yancey are down. Hopefully they will have them operational soon, but if you need something before then, email William.byland@yanceync.net

Good afternoon everyone,
The open field for this evening has been cancelled. The forecast is calling for rain with lightning and there is already something scheduled in the gym. We will hold tryouts on Monday 8/10, and Tuesday 8/11 beginning at 3:20 PM. The team will be off the field by 4:50. To participate in practice on Monday, athletes must have a physical form on file with Mr. Sink and have all paperwork completed in FinalForms. We look forward to getting started on Monday.

August means Back to School time! The first day of school is right around the corner so check out all the upcoming events.
The rescheduled Whitewater Center trip is tomorrow. Parents will have to sign a waiver as students are dropped off in the morning. Students must wear closed toed shoes. No new students can be added to the trip at this time as tickets have already been purchased. Drop off starts at 7:30am and we will be leaving at 8am.
Hello EYMS Soccer Parents/Players.
It’s almost time to head back to school which means Soccer season is upon us. We will have “Open Fields” for anyone interested in playing this year next week on Wednesday, August 5th and Thursday, August 6th from 3:30-5:00 PM. To participate in the open field nights, you must have a physical on file.
Tryouts/Practice will begin on Monday, August 10th at 3:20 PM. You must have all paperwork and physical forms on file in final forms to practice/compete in practice/games.
8/6, 8/7 open field at EY 3:30-5:00 PM
8/10-8/14 practice at EY 3:20-5:00 PM (8/10-8/11, Tryouts)
8/17-8/21 practice at EY 3:20-5:00 PM (8/20 Madison MS @EY game 4:30 PM)
8/24-8/28 practice at EY 3:20-5:00 PM

Open House
The Whitewater trip has been rescheduled to Aug 3.

East Yancey will not be going on the trip tomorrow Whitewater tomorrow due to weather related concerns. We will reschedule the trip, and I will make another announcement at that time.

Cheer Camp
A fun day learning how 3D printing can help in agriculture and farming. Students learned how to program Finches and had a fun marshmallow competition.
Yesterday was a fun day of paleontology and spending at the pool with the 6th grade transition camp!

Students attending the Carowinds Trip on Thursday, need to check their email for an important message. Parents should have also received an email of updates and schedule. If you have any questions, please contact the school.

The MHHS barn and arena sites are showing progress! The retaining wall is now up at the barn and concrete is being poured in preparation for the arena.

The Orr Building Expansion is nearing completion with a projected finish date of August 2026.
The Barn project is moving quickly behind the baseball field, and the exciting scene of the retaining wall above the Mountain Heritage High School sign is evidence of the progress on the show arena which will complement the Barn. Both of these projects are expected to be completed in September 2026.
