We will reassess weather conditions tomorrow morning and announce any changes to the school schedule by 6:30 a.m.

Our band concert is at 6:30 on Thursday at the High School. On Friday, we will have our annual Winter Dance from three until five pm. Cost of admission is $5. Friday evening, we will also celebrate our 6th graders for winning the penny wars.
Sports Section:
On Monday, Boys Basketball is at home and Girls Basketball is at Avery.

🚨 Due to a water main break, Mountain Heritage High School will dismiss at 10:00 a.m. Buses will take students home as normal. Athletic practices will be held after school at regular times. All other schools will remain on a regular schedule.

This week is spirit week. Monday is dress like Adam Sandler day, Tuesday is Switcharoo Day where students dress like teachers and teachers dress like students, Wednesday is Twin Day, Thursday is Camo vs Neon Day, and Friday is wear your Halloween Costume Day. No costumes can contain any weapons, alcohol, or tobacco.
The PTO is still selling their annual Spirit Wear sale. Please get those orders in this week.

The Yancey County Schools family is deeply heartbroken by the tragic loss experienced by one of our staff members whose husband and grandson—also one of our students—passed away in a recent accident.
Our top priority is providing care and support to our students, staff, and the family during this incredibly difficult time. Additional counseling and emotional support services are available to both students and employees.
We extend our deepest prayers and condolences to her as she mourns the loss of her husband and her beloved grandson.
